Most of us don't feel or move as well as we could. We all have physical asymmetries caused by posture or injury that are reinforced by gravity or habit. Over time these asymmetries can damage tissues, cause pain and inhibit our fitness potential. We may think of this as aging, and thus inevitable. Maybe it is, maybe it's not.
Embodied Total Fitness aims to acquaint you with the body you've had your entire life—to teach you how it works and moves, and how to best align, support and strengthen it so you can get out of pain and get into your life.
The Embodied Total Fitness classes at Quiet Corner Body Studio draw from a variety of mind and body disciplines, and are deeply grounded in anatomy, physiology and biomechanics. These classes give people the tools to feel better, move better, and keep it that way long after they leave the studio. The work applies to everyone irrespective of fitness level or range of motion limitation. Clients include joint replacement patients needing post-physical therapy help, to the "uninjured" wanting "more wiggle, less jiggle" in their jeans, to elite athletes training for competitive endurance events.
